A Golden Spree for the World to See it's
            Crucian Festival 2003

"Thousands of residents and visitors yesterday witnessed one of the greatest events in the history of St Croix- the revival of the old-time Christmas spirit."  Those words were written in The St. Croix Avis on Friday, January 2, 1953.  This is how it began fifty years ago, the  tradition of Festival in St Croix, U. S. Virgin Islands.

This Christmas, St. Croix, thanks to hard work of the Crucian Festival Committee, celebrated 50 years in grand style. We celebrated  through various activities such as the award ceremonies, queen show, prince and princess show, calypso shows, food fair, the village and the parades.  There were visitors from all over the world, in particular those who came back home just for this momentous occasion. Everyone had a grand time.  It was really, "A Golden Spree for the World to see, It's Crucian Festival 2003."

The spirit of Christmas and the Festival was evident in  the decor of the Governor's House in Christiansted, St Croix.
