One great feature of the Festival celebrations was a presentation/exhibit by The Virgin Islands Historic Preservation Office/Department of Planning and Natural Resource, together with the Virgin Islands Cultural Heritage Institute.  This event was held in the Fort Frederik Museum.  As identified by these pictures the exhibit titled "From Head to Toe: Caribbean Head-Ties and Cultural Wear"  featured illustrious traditional head ties, native dresses and dolls.  What a glorious display of color and creativity.. To get the full essence of the pictures click twice on the pictures.  In addition to the exhibit, there was a fashion show of the native attire.  The traditional attire exhibit represented: the Virgin Islands, Dominica, St. Lucia, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.  Many of the beautiful head ties were tied by Mr. Bradley Christian, Virgin Islands Cultural Heritage Institute Chair. It was a wonderful affair. The exhibit will be displayed in Fort Frederik Museum until February -March 2003 and then it travels to St. Thomas for their carnival in April.

There was also an exhibit titled, " Virgin Islands' Vernacular: Architectural Model of Historic Buildings and Structures."  It featured replicas of historic vernacular building and landmarks from St. Croix and St. Thomas by Luis Enrique Flores from Frederiksted, St. Croix. Great workmanship with precise detail.
