Native Broom Doll

Native Broom Dolls are made in the Virgin Islands. She  actually has an old time broom under her skirt for a stand.  She is approximately 15 inches tall.  She wears the local or native attire of her ancestors and this type of attire is presently used for special occasions - an elegant native dress with madras head tie and wrap.  She gently holds the end of her skirt in her arm to show off her delicate cotton slip trimmed with lace, as is the custom.  She wears a cotton and lace apron (with St. Croix written on it) and  simulated pearl earrings and with her hair tied back.  The broom inside allows her to stand up straight.  Her eyes, nose and mouth are a stitched design  and her hair is made of yarn. She makes a great gift and conversational piece.  Our dolls all have different prints please write for more information.  Native Broom Doll St. John.JPG (19303 bytes)  We can print any island on the apron or on slip.
